Alyssa Wright (she/her), LCSW, EMDR Trained, Owner

  • Age Range: Adolescents (15-18), Adults (18-60), Parents and Families

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and owner of Integrated Counseling and Wellness. I opened the practice in May 2019. I have been practicing therapy since 2013 in a variety of settings including community substance use outpatient clinics and group mental health practices in Illinois and Colorado. I received my BSW and MSW at the University of Illinois Champaign-Urbana campus in 2012 and 2013, respectively.

I specialize in treating adolescents (11+), and while adolescents are my specialty, I am leaning into working with adults (18+) who may be experiencing many different concerns. I am trained in IFS, EMDR, DBT, CBT, Motivational Interviewing and approach clients from an attachment lens. I have sought out specialized training to support my fellow LGBTQIA+ family and value creating a practice where identities are represented and all staff members are trained beyond basic cultural humility.

While my trainings and orientation frame my practice, what I value most is presenting my humanness to the room. I am not a perfect individual and I do not believe I am the expert in the room. I hope to cultivate an essence of curiosity in the room so that I may attune and meet the client exactly where they are at. I do not shy away from telling my clients I love them as this relationship, the client-therapist relationship, is the most complex/unique/powerful relationship one may have in their life. I do not take that lightly.

When I am not working, you can find me on local Colorado trails, taking walks with my two energetic dogs and daughter, weightlifting, drinking coffee (all the coffee!), watching movies or playing board games with my friends, or simply taking in the Colorado sun and air.

“You’re imperfect and you’re wired for struggle, but you are worthy of love and belonging.”
