Hello! My name is Vishalli Lawrence and I am currently completing my degree in Counseling and Career Development as I work towards becoming a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC) in the Fort Collins area. I graduated from Ball State University with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Psychology and a concentration in Counseling. When I am not in the therapy room, you can find me reading, playing with my dog Veda, listening to Taylor Swift, playing softball, and going to karaoke with my friends! In my developing trauma-informed practice, I enjoy pulling from many lenses of therapy, mainly focusing on person-centered theory, gestalt theory, feminist theory, and motivational interviewing. My theoretical orientation in a therapy session is built upon a client’s needs and individual issues, shifting and changing my practice as needed. I find joy in helping people with anxiety-related concerns, interpersonal problems, life transitions, grief/loss, and depression. I have a passion for working with women, LGBTQIA2+ individuals, and BIPOC folx. My main goal in therapy is to provide and create a safe, welcoming, and warm environment for all my clients. What clients share with me in this space is a privilege and not one I take lightly. I aim to help others discover and explore their innate love and strength within themselves. My favorite quote from Walt Whitman is: “I stop somewhere, waiting for you.” This quote emphasizes the importance of oneself and their innate ability to be and show up for themselves. This quote is about how in a place of suffering and pain, you always have YOU and that is enough. You are always there, waiting for yourself.
