Sierra Deimling (she/they), Clinical Intern

Greetings, I'm Sierra! I see therapy as a powerful contribution I can make in fostering a community full of individuals who feel more validated, empowered, and resourced. In a world that is often unsafe for marginalized folx to fully express themselves, it is my mission to create a therapeutic space that is warm, nonjudgmental, creative, and above all else, safe for the authentic expression of oneself. Whether that looks like tending to trauma, exploring sexual and/or gender identity, sitting with grief, identifying attachment wounds, planning for the future, or reflecting deeper on life's journey, I am here to support my community on the vast spectrum of reasons why they landed on this webpage. Laughter, tears, silence, movement, rest, art, fidgets, and deep breaths are all welcome in the counseling space. My practice is influenced by the teachings of Feminist, Gestalt, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Narrative Therapy.

As for my experience, I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Studies from the University of Montana. I am currently a student in Colorado State University's Counseling and Career Development master's program, specializing in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I believe that my "out of classroom experiences" are the ones that have been most formative in my character and counseling disposition. Some notable stops along my career path include leading a wilderness trail crew in Montana, auditing restaurants' waste streams (professional dumpster diving), connecting youth to field research opportunities around the world, operating ski lifts in Utah, and, most recently, working as a cheesemonger.

For grins, I like to wiggle around outside, gather pals in the name of food, rewatch the 2007 classic animated film Surf's Up, and remind my pit bull, Waffles, that she is unflawed.
