Kelly McDonnell, MSW Intern
Kelly is currently a Masters of Social Work candidate at Colorado State University. With more than ten years’ experience in non-profit work, Kelly has enjoyed working with folks of all backgrounds and building lasting relationships based on trust and compassion.
As a therapist, Kelly believes in exploring and harnessing her client’s strengths to empower them on their healing journey. Kelly draws on empathy, shame resilience, and open communication to create a space where clients can feel comfortable while sitting in vulnerability. Leveraging interventions and exercises from multiple modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), trauma-informed care, and family systems theory, Kelly understands that every individual’s experiences are unique, which requires a unique, holistic approach.
When she’s not working or in school, Kelly loves to spend her time on her bike, curled up with a good book, or water coloring.
